At A Hidden Secret we are passionate about redefining contemporary non-meat cuisine by experimenting with original and surprising flavour combinations. Our food challenges the bland, uninspiring misconceptions about vegetarian and vegan dishes, so we are pleased to introduce you to our Pumpkin, Mango & Walnut Puff and our Shepherdess Tart.
The Pumpkin, Mango & Walnut Puff is a blend of pumpkin cooked in spices mixed with mango, sage, onion and walnuts, wrapped in a vegan pastry – deliciously spicy! (Vegan)
The Sherperdess Tart is a spicy blend of peas, tomatoes and leeks topped with a buttery, herby mash in a handmade shortcrust pastry – fabulous comfort food for the long, cold wintery nights!
Our meat-free cookery delights discerning palates of all tastes, whether vegetarian, vegan or committed carnivore!
We are very pleased to announce that we have been invited to take part in this year’s Glenlyon Food and Wine Fayre on Sunday, 31 July 2011. We will have two stalls, one for Hidden Secret and one for Meredith Dairy.
Come and join us between 10am and 4pm. The Fayre is set in the grounds of the historic Shire Hall in the picturesque village of Glenlyon. It showcases the area’s cool climate wines along with new and established producers of fine Food.
Over 35 of the area’s finest vignerons and food producers offer sips, samples and sales to visitors while they enjoy live music and cooking demonstrations from local chefs.
If you share the love of good food and wine then you should join us at the Grampians Grape Escape at Halls Gap on Saturday 30th April and Sunday 1st May 2011. With more than 100 vendors, live music and children’s entertainment all set against the spectacular backdrop of the Grampians National Park, it is a sensational weekend not to be missed!
We will have all your favourites including the Meredith Dairy marinated cheese, fabulously tart & tangy beetroot relish, delicious vegetarian savoury tarts and our luscious lemon curd. We will also be introducing our ‘Grandma Dot’s Tomato Relish’ (a 100 year old recipe which is gluten free and with no added nasties), which has already proved a tremendous hit with our happy band of taste testers!
This year we will be selling our popular ‘hot tarts’ and scrumptious home made soup for those of you who are peckish and fancy something a little bit different to warm you up and keep your ‘bellies’ happy!
We are in marquee number 18 (see Exhibitor Plan below), so come and see us!
